Här fick jag chansen att kurera en aning. Jag har följt Amis arbete i flera år och vanligen tecknar hon stort, svart och ofta med världspolitisk anknytning. När vi träffades inför den här utställningen, första gången, blev jag därför riktigt förvånad över vad hon visade mig: Små virkade föremål i … inte så subtila färger.
Jag föll direkt. Helt knäppa virkade objekt!
Dessutom visade Ami mig stora nyligen gjorda teckningar som hon arbetat fram under meditativ koncentration. Formerna tyckte jag påminde om virkningarna med sina vågiga, monotona, linjer. Vi bestämde på stående fot att detta fick bli temat och Ami hade redan titel klar: Förspilld Kvinnokraft. (Lite av en blinkning till mormodern som ansåg att handarbete var just det – förspilld kvinnokraft.)
